Vosges – Museums

The following museum near Colmar is highly recommended.

Please follow website links for information on opening times and admission charges. (Information accurate as of June 2011.)

Musée Mémorial Le Ligne 1914-1918

68370 Orbey

This museum provides a really good background history to battles that are fairly unfamiliar to British students of the First World War. Period photographs and maps bring the actions and conditions in this inhospitable terrain to life, although a smattering of French is useful as there are no corresponding English language translations.
